about

Hi, I’m Cat!

A long-time Londoner, Brazilian expat, and firm believer that living well doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

I originally launched this blog way back in 2002, when I first moved to London. It started off in Portuguese, sharing my fresh-off-the-plane experiences.

Over time, life got busy, I archived the posts, and the blog went quiet for a while. But now I’m back, writing in English, and starting fresh, with two decades of London life under my belt.

(Mind you: Two decades in London. Still not paying full price!)

Like any self-respecting feline, I’ve found the cosiest corners, the best suntraps, and plenty of ways to stretch a budget without missing out

This blog is where I share it all: real-life tips for enjoying London without overspending, whether you’re a visitor, a new arrival, or a long-time local.

Expect advice on cheap eats, free things to do, hidden gems, and how to make your pounds go further in one of the world’s priciest cities.

Plus, the odd reflection on what it really means to build a life here as a foreigner who’s made London home. And why not, cat pictures. London cats, obviously!

If you’ve just arrived, are thinking of moving, or simply want to enjoy more of the city without breaking the bank, you’re in the right place.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet: it’s warm, slightly cheeky, and just a bit tucked away. Like a cat’s favourite windowsill.
